Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)
The Lifelong Learning Programme was the European Union’s central education programme during the funding period 2007-2013, covering all formal and non-formal learning activities in all stages of life. The funding included individual stays abroad like internships, sitting in on classes and study semesters as well as European cooperation projects for the exchange of knowledge, development of high quality products or education research.
As an individual sectoral programme, Leonardo da Vinci addressed the sector of vocational education and training in its entirety: apprentices, employees and institutions involved in vocational education and training. The Project ConstructEU is established under the funding measure LEONARDO Transfer of Innovation. Projects funded in the context of this measure are multilateral collaborations improving quality and attractiveness of vocational education and training by transferring successfully tested methods, products and practices to new environments.
In order to secure transparency and comparability of acquired skills and qualifications, European education projects are guided by the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF), adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union in 2008.
